G-Star RAW and tattoo icon Henk Schiffmacher are celebrating uniqueness. Artistic and personal expression on a blank canvas. Brought to life through limited-edition denim dungarees, with only 250 units available globally, each signed, numbered and designed by Schiffmacher.
Celebrities like Kurt Cobain, Lady Gaga and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have travelled to Amsterdam to get a permanent piece of art by Schiffmacher.
Full of history, symbols and mythology, the dungarees have a straight fit with various stitches – a reference to ancient tribal tattoos and the origins of the art of tattooing and the tattoos that Schiffmacher has on his legs.
“I wear overalls every day, the garment allows you to move freely, allowing you to practice your trade,” says Schiffmacher, who has one of the largest private collections of contemporary and historical tattoo ephemera on earth and has published over twenty books.
The dungarees are available in limited numbers from G-Star RAW stores in the V&A Waterfront, Mall of Africa and Sandton City.
