It’s 2022 and surely it is time that we ‘reimagined’ Valentine’s Day. The annual day of love is no longer just for traditional couples and ‘Mills & Boon’ style romance, but rather an opportunity to celebrate all the relationships in your life. So, if you’ll be woo’ing your partner, spoiling your sister or bonding with your bestie this Valentine’s Day weekend, choose an active endeavour that will have you both laughing, moving and having fun.
Claire Bowen from the brand for active people, Shower to Shower says that being active together has so many benefits beyond just having fun! “The second your body is active, the brain releases endorphins, which make you feel immediately lighter and happier. It’s a stress reliever and definitely an ice-breaker for a date, or even just an outing with a friend.” Makes sense to take a Shower to Shower product along so you can smell great whilst feeling great!
She recommends the following activities to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year:
- Valentine’s on Ice: lace up your skates together and feel like a kid again as you navigate your way around the ice rink. You might lose feeling in your cheeks, if not from the cold, then definitely from all the laughing.
- Valentine’s in nature: Pack an indulgent picnic and head into nature. Up a mountain, on to a green belt – whatever takes your fancy. Choose a picturesque spot to pause for your snack and enjoy the view.
- Valentine’s with comedy: If laughter is indeed the best medicine, then Valentine’s Day is the best time to administer it. Choose a comedy club for your evening out and exercise your funny bones!
- Valentine’s in the air: Channel your inner child and head to a trampoline park for your outing. Be sure to take a change of clothes, you’ll get sweaty!
- Valentine’s on wheels: If you don’t have a bicycle, rent one. In fact, rent two. Take your beau or bestie on a ride through Parkhurst or on the prom. Stop for coffee and enjoy the wind in your hair.
Ends.
